The Courier
Dear Friends,
By the time you get this, we will be heading into "Stewardship Sunday" - May 9th - also known as "Mothers' Day."
You wouldn't forget about your mom. You wouldn't forget about the church. It comes down to love and commitment - and
a card.
How's that for a simple message?
Peace,
Michael Dunfee

REMEMBER TO WEAR YOUR NAME TAG
You have a way to ease the introductions. Wear your name tag. Wearing your name tag also sends the message to visitors that we
want you to feel comfortable at FTCC and we want to get to know you.

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY
All those interested are invited to come join with this group to knit shawls, pray for those who are in need of the comfort
of the shawls and enjoy each other's company. All you will need for this time is a number 13 round knitting needle.
We have a pretty good supply of the type of yarn that we use and we will provide you with the directions.
You will find that this is one of the most satisfying ministries you can be a part of. Those receiving the shawls
have been warmed and comforted - lifted up by the caring those who have knitted and included them in their prayers.
If you cannot attend but would like to participate, please contact the office.

Acolytes
I love seeing the acolytes, so serious as they walk down and then the big grin as they come back having succeeded.
If you have a third grader or older, the church needs YOU. It is a commitment, but it is also an opportunity to let your child
give back to the church. Sign up for a month, or 2 families can sign up for one month.
The responsibilities are to ring the bell and light the candles at the beginning of the service, and to snuff out the candles
at the end of the service.
Ann Gerhard will email you the directions and remind you at the beginning of your month.
Please contact the office if you are interested.

Collector's Comments
We would like you to help us out in paying dues to the Conference and to the Pilgrim Association too.
The total for this year is $17.70 per person. Conference dues are $16.40 and Association dues are $1.30.
We would ask you to contribute $17 to cover the greater part of that. Remember that the Association was
instrumental in working with us to find our minister, that they work extremely hard in training folks to
become ministers, that they provide educational opportunities for many of us and provide many more services for us.
It is important that we support both of these bodies with our dues. You can make this contribution along with you regular
pledge or donation - simply mark it on your check as dues.
Thank you.

Mission & Outreach Sunday
Don't miss the special service! Our guests will be Jennifer Yerbon, Outreach and Education Advocate of DOVE
Wilma Goodhue, Co-Founder and Debbie Mastro, Program Director of the Friendship Home
Rev. Devon Bates, Director, Community Relations of Andover Newton Theological School
Pastor Mike will "interview" them, in place of the sermon. It's a wonderful time to get a closer understanding of the
groups we support through our pledges and gifts.
The Scituate Food Pantry is looking for donations of the following items:
all products
There is a donation box located in the inside the church porch, near the library (a green tub)
Many more families have been added to our list which has made the supplies move faster; it is sad to see
more vs less families coming to the pantry. Prayers for these families in their hour of need would help.
The Scituate Food Pantry wishes to thank all for their generosity and continued support.
Mainspring
Please sign up to serve dinner to the folks in Brockton, the sheet is in Rice Hall. Our church serves dinner
the third Sunday of each month.
